About

Who runs UniNorth, and why

UniNorth is built and edited by the UniNorth Editorial Team— a small group of students and recent graduates from the North Cyprus higher-education system who wanted the version of this tool that did not exist when they were applying. It is independent: no agent network, no recruitment commissions, no affiliate links. Every fee, scholarship and accreditation on the site comes from the university’s own published material, and the source link is one click away on every row.

Why this exists

International students researching North Cyprus universities mostly land on agent-run portals — sites that earn a recruitment commission for every signed application, presented as neutral comparison tools. Headline fees get rounded, scholarship eligibility gets blurred, and the cheapest route through the same university can disappear behind an “apply now” button.

UniNorth’s thesis is that the unbiased version is more useful: list every published fee at every accredited TRNC university, link each number to the source, and tell you which credential signals (ABET, WFME, ACPE, FIBAA, MÜDEK and the rest) actually open doors back home. No one pays us to push a particular university.

How it works

  • Sources, not summaries.Every fee row, scholarship row and accreditation row links to the university’s own published page or PDF. Same number, same publisher. If you ever see a figure here that doesn’t match the source, please email and we’ll re-verify within 48 hours.
  • Re-verified every 14 days. An automated pipeline re-fetches each university’s fee and accreditation pages on a 14-day cycle. Differences land in a human review queue before they ship. Each profile carries a Last verified stamp so you know how fresh the data is.
  • No commissions, no affiliate links. No university or agent pays UniNorth to appear, rank higher or hide a competitor. The site is funded out of pocket while the audience grows; the long-term plan is reader-supported, not advertiser-supported.
  • Editorial methodology is public. The full Student Fit Index methodology spells out every category, weight, sub-metric and confidence rule. The same document tracks every revision.

Who we are

The UniNorth Editorial Team came up through the TRNC higher-education system themselves. We are not affiliated with any TRNC university, any recruitment agency or any government office. We do not receive payment, free tuition or any other consideration from the universities listed on this site.

How to verify this site is what it says it is

If you’re evaluating whether to trust UniNorth, here is what is independently checkable in under five minutes:

  1. 1. The domain. uninorth.net is publicly registered through Cloudflare (registrar IANA ID 1910). A WHOIS lookup on any tool — ICANN’s own lookupworks — will show the same Cloudflare nameservers (ben.ns.cloudflare.com / jo.ns.cloudflare.com), an active registration with an expiry one year out, and a Cloudflare privacy proxy on the registrant contact. Privacy proxy is the standard Cloudflare default; it doesn’t mean the domain is unregistered.
  2. 2. The data.Every fee, scholarship and accreditation row on every page links to the university’s own published source. If a number doesn’t match the source, the source is right and we’re wrong — email and we’ll fix it.
  3. 3. The sources page. /sources lists every primary URL UniNorth cites — 11 university fee + accreditation source URLs, 3 government registries, and 22 accreditation-body registers. Independently verifiable in one click each.
  4. 4. The methodology. The Student Fit Index methodology is published in full — categories, weights, evidence rules, and revision history. Nothing about how scores are computed is hidden.
