Ercan takes flights only from Türkiye, so every route ends Istanbul–Ercan, often after a Gulf stopover. Once on campus, the Zambian cohort is modest in size but consistent, and tends to concentrate in medicine and health sciences. English-medium instruction aligns well with Zambia's schooling background, and most Zambian students fold naturally into the broader Anglophone-Africa student network across campuses.
Money + banking
Outward education transfers from Zambia move through commercial banks using the offer letter and enrollment documentation as supporting paperwork. Tuition is typically settled in USD — your bank converts kwacha to USD at the prevailing rate before wiring. ZMW exchange rates shift, and the converted amount reaching the university can differ from what you budgeted weeks earlier. Start the transfer process well before payment deadlines. Bring your acceptance letter, fee schedule, and any bank-mandated foreign-exchange forms to the appointment. Policies on documentation requirements and transfer ceilings are set by individual banks in line with Bank of Zambia guidelines — verify the current procedure with your bank before each transfer, not just the first one.
Pre-arrival concerns
Three questions come up consistently from Zambian applicants.
