EMU Offers Free Psychological Counseling for Students
Eastern Mediterranean University's PDRAM center gives students free, confidential counseling, with appointments booked online.

If you study at Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) and need someone to talk to, there is a free option on campus. The Psychological Counseling, Guidance & Research Center, known as EMU-PDRAM, offers face-to-face sessions at no cost to students.
For an international student far from home, this matters. Culture shock, exam stress, or homesickness are common in the first year, and knowing where to go for help before a crisis hits is worth having in your back pocket.
How it works: applications go through an online form first. EMU-PDRAM says all information submitted is kept confidential. After the form is received, staff contact the student using the details provided and schedule an appointment as soon as possible. Students can also visit the center in person or call ahead to book, postpone, or cancel a session.
The center was founded in 1997 and describes itself as the first university-level psychological service in North Cyprus. It started out serving EMU students only and later expanded to cover staff and their families. The team currently includes six psychologists, a psychiatrist, and a social worker, according to the university.
Services go beyond one-on-one sessions. EMU-PDRAM also runs group counseling, in-service training, and programs aimed at specific groups within the university community, alongside research projects on particular branches of psychology.
The center is on the ground floor of the Health Center on EMU's Famagusta campus. Contact details listed by the university: phone +90 392 630 2251, fax +90 392 630 2254 / 2475, email counsel.pdram@emu.edu.tr.
For students weighing which university to attend, support services like this are one factor to check alongside tuition and housing costs. You can compare what different universities offer, and line up your budget using the cost calculator before you commit.
