Girne American University (GAU) has switched on its Student Portal for payment planning, ahead of the official registration week running September 21–30, 2026.

For international students, this matters because registration week tends to get crowded. GAU says setting up your payment plan before that window opens counts as an advantage when you register, and should help you avoid delays.

What to do

Log in at student.gau.edu.tr, open the Registration tab, then go to Payment Plan. There is an instructional video in the portal (labelled "Yardım Videosu: Nasıl Ödeme Yapılır" in Turkish) that walks through the payment steps. GAU is asking students not to leave this until the last days of the window, to reduce congestion on the system.

If you are new to paying tuition from abroad, or moving money into TRNC for the first time, it is worth reading through a banking and money transfer guide before you start, so you know what documents and transfer methods your bank will expect.

Students comparing GAU's fees against other TRNC universities can check verified numbers on the tuition fees pages, or run their full budget, tuition plus living costs, through the cost calculator.

GAU has not published a penalty or deadline for skipping this step, only that early setup helps avoid last-minute registration problems. If you are a GAU student, do this now rather than during the last week of September.
