No new scholarship was announced this week — so here is the standing money that matters, checked against every university's own pages.

Nobody announced a new scholarship in North Cyprus this week. That is normal for late August — the decisions that matter now are the standing ones, and a few of them have deadlines coming up. Here is what is actually on the table for 2026-27, taken from the universities' own published pages.

The "everyone gets 50%" rule

At CIU, NEU (except Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy and Veterinary), ARUCAD and Cyprus West, every admitted international undergraduate automatically receives a 50% scholarship. Treat the discounted figure as the real price — it is what nearly every student pays, and our tuition tables already show it that way.

Full rides that are genuinely competitive

  • EMU runs two 100% routes with January deadlines: the All-Inclusive Scholarship for graduates in the top 1% of their country's secondary system (end of January) and a Tuition Fee Waiver for top performers in national entrance exams, capped at two students per country (early January).
  • BAU Cyprus publishes a 100% merit tier that leaves a net $600 a year in VAT and administrative charges; its 75% tier nets $1,782.
  • FIU lists merit tiers up to 100% for bachelor's degrees; at the 80% tier a year costs $1,970 all in.
  • Türkiye Bursları (YTB) is the big external one: a full Turkish government scholarship with an application window typically in January–February, and the main funded route to METU Northern Cyprus Campus.

Money you earn after arriving

  • GAU upgrades students with a CGPA of 3.50 or higher after first year to 75% or 100% High Honour scholarships.
  • EMU pays honor awards worth one to three times the TRNC gross minimum wage to top-ranked students, and takes 10% off tuition for anyone paying the year in full by the end of November — the nearest hard deadline on this list.
  • EUL publishes a need-based route up to 100% for international students from low and lower-middle-income countries under the World Bank classification.

How to read all this

A scholarship percentage means nothing without the base price it discounts, and conditions differ line by line. Run your program through the cost calculator with the post-scholarship figure, and verify conditions on the university's own page — every claim above comes from one, linked below.
